Hi Jimmy. I agree that this is very interesting - 'culturomics' is an ugly word but is something that is only possible now that we have digitisation and the internet. The TED phenomenon is also interesting when you think about it - one of the most accessed forms of relatively 'high culture' communication (about science, law, the arts, education and so forth) in the history of humankind, I would venture to say, and all free and in 'sound bite' chunks.
